Our Philosophy
We believe your event should be a reflection of you and yours. We take care to know our clients and work with them to design and implement a vision that will have your guests talking for months and years afterwards.
Our Experience
Dawn began coordinating events in college when she worked in her student union. She put her personal stamp (along with her husband's!) on every detail for their own wedding day. Since then she's been helping others do the same for themselves.

Do I need a wedding planner/event coordinator?
Everyone has different needs. A wedding planner or day-of coordinator are there to take the pressure off so that you are able to relax and enjoy your day. Weddings are stressful, and expensive. Your wedding should be the best day of your life, so far. A coordinator is the solution to a stress-free day if you don't have a close friend or family member to ask, or if you want your close friends and family to be able to relax and enjoy just like you.
How and when should I choose my vendors?
Everyone's budget and time line are different. Your vendor selection will depend entirely on these two factors. A qualified wedding planner can help you choose the vendor who will work best for you. Don't get stuck with vendors your cousins/sisters/brothers used, everyone interacts differently with different vendors.
How do I keep costs down?
Be realistic. Do everything you can to make your day unique to you. If you can't afford the gold-embossed escort cards, then imagine an alternative. We will never pressure you to work outside your budget. The cost of the average wedding is climbing higher and higher, we can help you stay within your guidelines.

Welcome to Fantastic Affairs blog!I'm Dawn, and I started my wedding and event planning journey in 2005 when the mother of a friend asked for help throwing her daughter a 21st birthday bash. I enlisted the help of a mutual friend and we pulled together a fantastic luau-themed bash (minus the pig roast). Soon after, I began thinking about beginning my own event planning business. For the next few years, friends enlisted me in birthday party, bachelorette party, bridal shower, and anniversary party planning. A dear friend called me one February Friday and said she was tired of planning and making decisions, could she get married in my mom's living room in two weeks? Well, the timing didn't work so I stayed up late that night, gathered flowers, a wedding dress, family, a minister, a wedding gift, and even a cake, and she was married the next day. Putting a wedding together in 24 hours made me realize how much I enjoyed what I was doing, and when I began planning my own wedding a few months later, I knew I would always want some form of event planning in my life. And so began the process of building what would become Fantastic Affairs. Since then I've planned and coordinated weddings, bachelorette parties, and bridal showers on a professional level. I love it.A teacher by day, the school year schedule is perfect for me to teach during the school year, with free evenings and weekends for weddings, and all summer to plan my way through wedding season. I am incredibly lucky, and I am able to work at both of my passions, being creative all year round.Come back soon!
